Moving Target,
also Dan's music publishing company, is an ensemble of musicians featuring Rob
Kirchner on saxophones, flute, and vocals; Dan on guitars, keyboard, harmonicas, and lead vocals,
and Scott Blum on percussion. See Band Bios

Regulars at Sharky's on the Pier,
Moving Target started
as a "fill in" band on Sunday evenings at the Longboat Key Hilton when someone
else couldn't make the gig. They quickly became the band of preference and
branched out to become one of the area's leading groups.
Moving Target performs
at popular night spots, large corporate functions, music festivals, and private
clubs and parties.
Band Bios
Dan
Crawford grew up in Flint, Michigan, where he trained vocally from age four. He
took up the guitar at age 12, then later keyboards and harmonica and started
playing in various bands and writing songs. He moved to Florida in 1977 as a
soloist and helped form the band “Overture” in 1980. He has recorded two
solo CDs (“Present Tense” and “Frame Of Mind”) , one CD with
“The Jeff Adams Band”, and one CD with The Tapwater Conchs. Currently, he divides his time between solo
performances and the band “Moving Target”.
Rob
Kirchner has been playing sax around the Gulf Coast for the last two decades. He has
entertained a wide variety of VIP's too important to mention or we'd have to
kill you. Rob gets up close and personal when he mingles through the crowd as he
plays. He has played with Gregg Allman, The Toler Bros. and several local groups. He adds a distinctive jazz edge
to the Moving Target sound.
Scott
Blum is originally from the New Jersey/New York area and has been playing drums
since he was 13 years old. Since relocating to the west coast of Florida, Scott
has been playing a variety of music including both drum set and Latin
percussion. He performs regularly at The Symphony Center Sarasota, with the
Center for Positive Living music ensemble, and with Don Scaletta and The Jazz
Project, Orlando, Fl. He can also be seen playing in the area with Esteban, and
a variety of Jazz and Pop artists. Performances include dance bands, theatre
productions, parades, ethnic and jazz festivals, concerts, television, and
studio recordings.
